Roger Federer is a Swiss expert tennis player who is right now positioned world No. 3 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Federer was conceived at the Basel Cantonal Hospital in Basel, Switzerland.His father, Robert Federer, is Swiss, from Berneck, close to the fringes between Switzerland, Austria and Germany; and his mom, Lynette Federer (conceived Durand), from Kempton Park, Gauteng, is a South African whose progenitors were Dutch and French Huguenots.

His achievements in expert tennis have prompted him being viewed by numerous individuals as the best tennis player ever. Federer turned proficient in 1998 and has been consistently positioned in the main 10 since October 2002.

He is among the eight men (and among the five in Open Era) to catch a lifelong Grand Slam. Federer shares an Open Era record for most titles at Wimbledon with Pete Sampras (seven) and at the US Open with Jimmy Connors and Sampras (five). He is the main male player to win five sequential US Open titles. Federer holds a few records of the Open Era: holding the world No. 1 position for 302 weeks (counting 237 back to back weeks); winning 17 Grand Slam singles titles; achieving every Grand Slam last something like five times (a record-breaking record); and achieving the Wimbledon last ten times.
